The diary of Lt. James E. H. Foster (1848-1883). Buecker used the diaries and illustrated journals of Foster to write a biography of the U. S. Army Cavalry soldier.

Foster rode with General Crook, fought in the Battle of the Rosebud, was on the Starvation March and charted the Black Hills. Indexed. Foster's diary is recreated in full color along with many watercolors done by Foster in the diary and elsewhere. Bibliography. This book documents the start of Nebraska Libraries across the entire state. Andrew Carnegie provided gifts of $720,000 to fund sixty-nine libraries across the state of Nebraska. These libraries were built between 1901 and 1922. This book gives the history of each library.
