LA NUIT DE L’ORCHIDEE Eau de Parfum 50ml

A vanilla orchid on a stormy night: La Nuit de l’Orchidée draws its inspiration from the leathery appearance of a dark vanilla pod. Pierre Guillaume gives that image an almost tempestuous character, with expressive leather taking precedence over familiar sweetness.

Spices, a vanilla-orchid accord, amyris and leather form the composition. Woody and spicy nuances reveal a different side of vanilla from the creamy softness of a gourmand. The orchid in the name suggests an intimate relationship between vanilla and leather, rather than an airy bouquet.

Leather plays a defining role alongside the woods and spices. It brings out the darker character of the vanilla pod instead of merely accompanying something sweet. The storm is an image of the fragrance’s mood: intense and shadowy, without being a literal recreation of rain.

Fragrance notes: Spices, vanilla-orchid accord, amyris and leather.

This fragrance is for you if: you enjoy dark leather and woody fragrances with spices, where vanilla takes on a more sensual, less familiar character.

This fragrance may not be your best match if: you look to vanilla mainly for creamy dessert sweetness, or expect an orchid fragrance to be soft, fresh and floral.

Choose this fragrance if: you want the dark character of a vanilla pod alongside a prominent leather accord, with vanilla offering more than a sweet finishing touch.
