Syn-Ake Peptide Serum Booster

Syn-Ake is used at 1 to 5% for the look of smoothed lines — particularly the vertical ones. It is the peptide formulators reach for when the concern is lip lines, the 11s between the brows, or forehead creases.

This is a formulation ingredient, not a finished serum. Do not apply it undiluted.

What is in the bottle

INCI: Water (Aqua), Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate

Clear liquid. Water-soluble. Vegan. Molecular weight under 500 Daltons, which is small as cosmetic peptides go.

No preservative. Add one to your finished blend — Leucidal Liquid or Leucidal Complete at 2–4% — and keep it refrigerated.

How much to add

Recommended usage rate is 1 to 5%. Using our house rate of 9 drops per 1% per fluid ounce:

What it is for

Syn-Ake is the vertical-line peptide. Where Argireline is usually reached for on the forehead and crow's feet, Syn-Ake is the one for:

• Lip lines and the vertical creases above the mouth
• The 11s between the brows
• Forehead lines
• Laugh lines around the mouth

It also contributes to the look of a smoother, firmer surface generally, which is why it turns up in tightening formulas as well as line-focused ones.

How to use it

1. Choose a water-based cream, serum or gel as your base.
2. Add the drops for 1 to 5%.
3. Add a preservative at 2–4% — this booster has none.
4. Cap and shake, or stir it through a cream.
5. Refrigerate what you are not using.

Give it time. Syn-Ake is cumulative — most people work with it for about a month before judging what it is doing.

If you have sensitive skin, patch test on the inside of the arm first, as with any new active.

What to pair it with

Syn-Ake layers with Argireline, Snap-8 and Inyline. All four work on the look of lines through different routes, so combining them is not doubling up on the same thing.

A common blend: Syn-Ake for the vertical lines, Argireline across the forehead, in a hyaluronic acid base.
